About Volaris

Volaris is an ultra-low-cost airline that has been satisfying customers for nearly 20 years. In 2005, Volaris began its long journey to its present place of prominence by being established under the name Vuela Airlines. Significant investors invested in the company to create a total of 100 million USD in operating capital. The sale of tickets didn’t start until the 12th of January, and the airline made a point of avoiding the congestion and expense of flying into Mexico City. In 2008, it began operating internationally by arrangement with Southwest Airlines.

Throughout the following months and years, the airline would expand to include new locations and additional planes to cover the growing demand for their services. In 2015, it took two significant steps: flying to the NE area of the United States and beginning flights outside the Americas to destinations like Guadalajara.
