In 1933, the Lake Michigan Credit Union was initially established under “Grand Rapids Teachers Credit Union” by Lloyd F. Hutt. It operated under this name for 69 years before being changed to its present name. It had 36 locations throughout Michigan and merged with Citizens Credit Union in 2010. Presently, it continues to serve the people of Michigan, including the teachers who work daily teaching the state’s youth.
