Frank Toskan quickly became aware of the lack of necessary textures and colors to produce genuinely exceptional makeup in the makeup industry in 1984. At the same moment, he realized that there simply wasn’t enough consideration for the varying types of women and the difference in skin tones experienced by the world’s ethnic communities. So it was then that MAC Cosmetics came to exist, and with Nordstrom’s help, it found its way into the American market.
