The year was 1948 when Aaron Scheinfeld and Elmer Winter established Manpower in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They opened two offices, one in Chicago, Illinois, and the other in Milwaukee, and focused on providing temp services to various employers through their respective areas. They successfully grew for the next 28 years until they were sold to the Parker Pen Company in the year Elmer Winter retired until it was again independent in 1986. This company has 2700 offices serving 80 countries worldwide with skilled and unskilled staff to serve as temporary staffing solutions.
