About Price Chopper
In 1927, a pair of brothers took control of a wholesale grocery company that had previously been owned by Lewis Golub, their father. Five years later, these Russian immigrants organized a corporation with a couple of others, founding the Grosberg-Golub Corporation. Over the following decades, the company would continue to grow, adding two more stores under the name Central Market, which stuck until 1973 when it became Price Chopper. Today, there are 130 locations with this name that employ 18,000 people across New Hampshire, New York, and other New England states.
