First founded in 2003, Wave Broadband was established to provide services to customers from all sectors, including enterprise, business, and residential areas. These services included telephone, cable TV, and internet services to nearly half a million customers throughout Washington, California, and Oregon. Most of their services are built on a fiber-optic network owned by the company and managed by a team of over 1,000 employees. Steve Weed established this company by purchasing several existing companies, including Cedar Communications, Charter Communications, and Northland Communications, through Oregon and Washington, and then expanded by picking up other faltering companies until it reached its present size. In 2015, Wave Broadband acquired Astound Broadband, including Astound mobile, internet, and TV services.
