Delaware Power & Light was first established in 1909 and was dedicated to serving the state that bore its name. 44 years later, this company reached out to take possession of Maryland and Virginia’s power supplier, Eastern Shore Public Service Company. It would continue to operate under these names until 23 years later when it took on the name Delmarva Power & Light and eventually would transition to Delmarva Power just 6 years later.
