About Founders Credit Union

Founders Credit Union’s humble beginnings can be traced back to the 1950s when the president of Springs Mills noticed his employees were the victims of loan sharks and high-interest payday-loan-type lenders. He opened a credit union in his mill to give his employees another banking option. In the 1970s, the credit union moved out of the mill, and several locations opened. In 1993, the company officially became Founders Federal Credit Union, or Founders FCU for short.
