About Google Fi

Google Fi was developed to provide service for the Nexus 6 smartphone, released in April 2015. At that time, it was being supported by T-Mobile and Sprint. There was immense demand for the service when it was released, so much so that an invitation system had to be established. This system would eventually be dropped in March of 2016, just shy of a year later. U.S. Cellular and Three would be added to the supported networks in 2016, and support for the Pixel and Pixel XL phones would come later that year. Over the following years, the plan’s coverage continued to grow, as did the speed and plan levels offered. Today, it continues to go strong and supports over 40 different models of phones.
