About Mr. Cooper

The Nova Credit Corporation was first established in 1994 in Denver, CO. 3 years later, it would move to Dallas, TX, and become the in-house lender for Centex Homes. This merger led to them becoming part of the Centex Credit Corporation. 2001 would see Centex merge into Centex Home Equity Company. 2005 would see Centex acquired by Nationstar Mortgage 2006, which would go public in 2012. Six years later, the company would be rebranded as Mr. Cooper.
